BLEEDING PANDA COMPILATION
WHAT?
Huh! I finally finished. I took me a really long time because I am really not even a 10% of an expert on the subject of early electro and electro-funk. At first I wanted to avoid the classics as much as possible but after spending hours listening to 1980's electro/first techno vinyls I noticed that all the classics are really the strongest points and most of the rarities and experimentations are crappy. I didn't include Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash or Shannon but I really couldn't avoid Juan Atkins because he is just perfectly detached. In fact almost all songs here were big underground hits at some point. + I noticed that many young "clubbers" today don't really know when techno started or which track is considered to be the first so I posted both of them. Of course - I am talking about 1981 Cybotron's glorious Alleys of Your Mind and A Number of Names Sharevari. Also, two tracks from Boys Noize and Tobias Von Hofsten are examples of the continuing influence of the Roland TR-808 machine. One of the best less known tracks here is definitely Electric Boogie Boots Cheeky - a fantastic German electro-funk and the childish nerdy Jonzun Crew's classic Space Is The Place - one of the finest electro jams of it's generation.
I hope you enjoy this comp as much as I do.
