V.A. Pinkycheek Sweetmint And Titshit Rave Buttpunch (2010)

ARTIST`````Various
ALBUM`````
Pinkycheek Sweetmint & Titshit Rave Buttpunch
GENRE`````
Naive, Nu Rave, Jpop, Kitsch, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Happy Hardcore, Electro Indie, Dance, Synthesizer

YEAR````````2010
A Bleeding Panda Compilation!

What
Quite a chaotic selection - I am sure many of you who take music too seriously will be immensely irritated by some tracks here. In short, this is a pile of dance-nerd-rave-core tracks for butt-shaking. I really didn't know how to name the compilation so I just typed in some nice stuff as you can see.

I had a rather sad discovery a month ago - I flipped out on
a Japanese born techno-nerdcore artist imoutoid. After a few clicks I found out that he suddenly died from heart failure in 2009 (he was only 18 years old). There is not much information about him except some message board comments, a letter from his father and a bunch of pages that get messed up when you translate them with Google translate. Pay attention to his cover of the gorgeous Apex Twin song 4 (get it here) called HanaHazu*James!! OP "SoAi? 4Seasons" - shit, how do you pronounce that? There are some links on him here: http://dis.4chan.org/read/music/1244209724 and also check him out on youtube.

I really wanted to include at least one happy hardcore track on this compilation but after listening for several days to some multiple CDs "Hardcore Anthems" or whatever I found out that that's not my thing. I managed to cut out and rearrange a 1,5 min clip from an artist Gammer - a rather solid rave bang but that's it - I am not going back to that.

Anyways, some excellent fresh artists are here and I will be posting more quick comps like this very soon so stay tuned.

Rustie - Sunburst EP (2010)

ARTIST`````Rustie
ALBUM`````Sunburst
GENRE`````
Aquacrunk, Dubstep, Electronic

YEAR````````2010

What?
A prime protagonist within Glasgow’s Lucky Me clubland community, and rising solo force in his own right, Rustie reveals more of himself than ever before on this five-track EP, his debut release for Warp Records outside of compilation appearances. But while Sunburst presents a clearer picture of this young talent, its brevity is both blessing and curse. As a rounded primer it’s brilliant; but it leaves the listener immediately hungry for more.Having helped to establish something of a sub-genre, whatever it’s coolest to call it this week – aquacrunk was mooted but recently ridiculed through Twitter by a stateside fraternity led by Flying Lotus; wonky has stuck to an extent but feels a little too sell-short for music of far greater complexity than such a catchall conveys – Rustie’s modus operandi is a fairly unique one. Fellow Lucky Me player Hudson Mohawke has enjoyed a modicum of success with his take on the style, effectively a mutation of dubstep with emphasis on fractured party beats over those painting a dark picture of late-night paranoia, but his long-player of last year, Butter, was perhaps a little too scattershot for its own good. By focusing exclusively on traits that have benefitted him thus far, and exclusively to instrumentals, Rustie has here delivered a defining work.

Intrusion - The Seduction of Silence (2009)

ARTIST`````Intrusion
ALBUM`````The Seduction of Silence
GENRE`````
Dub Techno, Ambient,
YEAR````````2009

Who?
Written by Todd Hutlock
Though individual highlights abound on The Seduction of Silence, the album works best when taken as a whole, an endorsement of Hitchell's vision for an expertly paced and executed album that raises the bar on the dub techno game to stratospheric levels. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better winter warmer than this; remember it with warm thoughts when winter returns later this year, when it's time for year-end polls.

V.A. Skull Disco - Soundboy Punishments (2007)

ARTIST`````Various
ALBUM`````
Skull Disco - Soundboy Punishments
GENRE`````
Dubstep / Electronic
YEAR````````2007

From Resident Advisor:
The most successful and yet experimental of dubstep’s first wave are those that have drifted furthest away from the grime roots of the genre. In terms of definitive albums, Burial’s eponymous debut is the shining light (or is that shining dark?) example of this, but it’s now joined by South London’s Skull Disco label compilation. Burial had the advantage of releasing an album in the purest sense of the word, but this release is only less classic because of what it is, a compilation, not because it lacks in quality or intensity. Between them, Shackleton and Appleblim (with a sole contribution by Gatekeeper) have filled two discs with tracks culled from their fledgling label’s six releases, topping it off with the inclusion of Ricardo Villalobos’ epic eighteen-minute minimal techno remix of ‘Blood on My Hands’. Shackleton opens proceedings, and the majority of tracks are simply dazzling throughout. His minimal drum pressures and ethnic atmospheres are completely convincing and never stop driving forward. It’s a sculptured, living jungle sound in the truest sense, conjuring up fierce fires and impenetrable shadows flickering in the pressing trees. Tracks like ‘Tin Foil Sky’ and the immortal ‘Blood on My Hands’ perfectly capture this mood, somehow wild and menacing, but deliberate also. Villalobos’s remix loses a little of the direct humid pressure of the original, but finds instead a slower, maddening hypnotism and an airiness that still works well. Appleblim has also honed the label’s signature minimal drum sound to perfection, but there’s less of an ethnic influence and more of an old school palette. The bass climb in ‘Mystical Warrior’, for example, is absolutely vicious and begs you to crank it up, while on other tracks he works more patiently to build brooding atmospheres. Apart from the quality of the individual tracks, the compilation has a fantastic flow to it, creating an intelligent, poised and sensual listening experience. Highly recommended, and to think they nearly shut their label down!

V.A. Bleeding Techno Series 03 - Submerged (2010)

ARTIST`````VARIOUS
ALBUM`````BLEEDING TECHNO SERIES VOL.03: SUBMERGED
GENRE`````
DUBSTEP, IDM, TECHNO, MINIMAL,
AMBIENT
YEAR````````2010

INFO
Just realized that the word techno may confuse people who are actually looking for pure genre-techno. Anyways, this one is very different from the previous two. It is strongly based on dubby, atmospheric and mostly very minimal tracks (some 12 mins long) so try to take it all in one listen. No hard grooves here, just very carefully produced tracks with a maximum attention to detail and booming sub basses. Also, this is the first time I am posting some dubstep music:) It may be just a few tracks but it's a start.

I hope you enjoy this one.
